The JWE was founded in 2011 by Chaya Fishman. She realized that starting and building a business can be a daunting task, especially for observant women, many with little access to education or resources. Since then, The JWE hosts an annual business conference, 1-1 mentorship, city chapters, and an online community of women helping each other advance their professional goals.
